The travel here was long and grueling and honestly... we won't be doing that again haha. Moving ourselves, that is. The money we get reimbursed with truly isn't worth the sanity we lost during that drive in our 26 ft. moving truck. The picture above doesn't do the size of that thing justice. It was huge! Plus we had a trailer on the back pulling my car. We stopped at truck stops for diesel fuel the entire time and had one ridiculous mishap trying to park the truck in a hotel parking lot. What a joke... I'm glad I can laugh now because at the time we wanted to just say "bleep it," and call someone to finish this trip for us. But we did it!!
In FL. I had to say goodbye to my family. It didn't hit me until I was pulling away.... Then the water works came. I know my mom, dad and myself tried to keep it together at least until we were out of each other's sight lol.
Once we made it to Texas, we got settled in on the base hotel and Ryan immediately started work since we won't be moving into our house until the beginning of May.
We got to see the house for the first time in person! We are so excited.
Lastly, I GOT A JOB! I didn't expect to start working so soon but I am happy to be back in the classroom. It's close to the end of the school year so I will only be working until the end of May and then it's the summer so the timing actually worked perfectly. I can get situated in our house over the summer and be able to visit home (because yes I'm already homesick). Then start the new school year in August!!
We live a pretty fast paced life... So I have to remind myself to take a minute and spend all the time with Ry that I can, because even though we are together now, those deployments and TDYs creep up on you!
So we are enjoying right now and can't wait to get in the house and OUT of this hotel!
