DIY Looking Glass Jars

I've been seeing people spray paint glass jars and how neat they looked so I decided to make a few myself. A few people had said they used the Krylon "Looking Glass" spray paint and I loved the way it looked. I started to save all the jars I could which was pretty easy once I noticed how much we go through salsa and pasta sauce. Once I was ready I started to search for tutorials or even just directions on how to use the paint on the jars. I couldn't find any detailed or useful tutorials so I am making my own!
Here it goes: How to use Krylon "Looking Glass" spray paint on glass jars
Before we begin I will tell you where to buy the paint. I got mine at Walmart for $7 because I was able to price match it with a price from a local store. You can find it really at any craft or paint store that sells Krylon spray paint. You may have to search around for the best price because the Looking Glass spray paint is a little pricier than the others.
Once I collected all of the jars I had to remove the paper labels on them. I did this by first just taking the label off and then soaking the jars in HOT soapy water and then scrubbing them and allowing them to completely dry. I used "Goof Off" on the remaining goo left over and let me tell ya, that stuff is magic! You can find it at walmart, or any hardware/paint store and is in a yellow can. I paid 3 bucks for a small 4 oz. can and that is all I needed. I still have some left over. You could go without the scrubbing and hot water and just use the Goof Off because it worked so well but I only used it after because the water did not remove the goo completely. Once the goo was removed I then put the jars in water again because I was unsure if the residue left over from the Goof Off would effect the paint at all. I dried them, again, and they were ready for paint! (this process if much easier than it seems) HA! but really, it is.
Once they were ready for paint, I took them outside and laid them on newspaper. (Sorry for the shortage of pictures, I will get better at documenting I PROMISE!)
NOW: You have to paint the opposite side that you want to have the mirror effect on. So I painted the INSIDE of the jars because I wanted the outside to show the mirror like effect.
Make sure you follow the direction on the can about shaking the can first. Place the jar on its side and spray into the jar from about 6 inches away, rotating the jar and spraying on each rotation. You will do this several times because you have to apply very light coats in order for the paint to work. I made a mistake the first try and the coats were to heavy and they ran and made it really splotchy.
Here is the video of me spraying one coat of paint. Once I was finished with one coat I waited about 3 minutes for it to dry and applied the second and repeated several times until I achieved the look I wanted. It should not take more than 6 or 7 coats.

Once you apply all of your coats, it should look similar to this!

I am so happy with mine! Here are my finished products! Thanks for stopping by!
