(This photo was not taken by me but by the local newspaper)
The last few days have been cold and icy. Two things this Florida girl is NOT used to dealing with. This is the first time it has "snowed" in FL since 1993. Given, where I live (on the panhandle) it is mostly thick sheets of ice and not technically snow but either way, it's so strange to be dealing with!
All the schools and both Air Force Bases are closed along with other stores in our area. I'm sure some northerners reading this are laughing out loud that this is closing everything down BUT we do not have the equipment to keep the ice off the roads and other factors are contributing to it as well. Anyways, we are staying INSIDE to keep warm but we did go outside to play for a while! :) Here are a few photos of my niece seeing the "snow" /ice for the first time.
Yes, those are socks on her hands!haha! We couldn't find her gloves because, well, we obviously don't need them here very often)
We went sledding by using a laundry basket... Hey, we had to get creative.
She loved it! And so did I! We are now staying inside and making CHILI for dinner. :)
On a side note: Ryan GRADUATED his Loadmaster training! So proud of him. Now he is on his way back to NC until mid march. We are well on our way to getting to Texas! Woohoo!
Hope everyone stays WARM if you are in the cold.
